INTRODUCING ALTERNATIVES RANKING WITH ELECTED NOMINEE (ARWEN) METHOD: A CASE STUDY OF SUPPLIER SELECTION

Supply chain management (SCM) has gradually evolved beyond the straightforward logic of benefits and economic viewpoints. Supplier selection performance evaluation are crucial strategic components any SCM system with a substantial impact risk reduction. Several conflicting factors make supplier challenging multi-criteria decision-making problem. This paper introduces method called alternative ranking elected nominee (ARWEN) to select suppliers in Iran’s dairy product store. The primary principle ARWEN is choose best based on lowest change rate rather than nominee. Four extensions proposed depending upon nature level information available decision-makers. A fifth extended version termed E-ARWEN also recommended consider negative form Two novel statistical tools, index Zakeri-Konstantas distance correlation coefficient, put forth validate extensions’ outcomes. results verification this new carried out through two case examples. Comprehensive comparisons were explore methods’ behaviors, indicating III have similar behavior VIKOR, SAW, EDAS generating rankings.
